PCR Testing

I was tested 2 months after my Sexual incounter with PCR testing I just wanted to know since my test was negative how accurate is the test because from my understanding the test can detect the viral load as early as a week however the window period is 1-3 weeks since I was tested after two months is that a guarantee that I do not have Hiv?

We don't talk about testing on this forum when somebody did not have a risk because it only feeds their anxiety and misconceptions. The accuracy just doesn't matter since you never had an exposure.

Your doctor is obviously not well trained on HIV matters. An HIV counselor at Planned Parenthood or your county health department would probably give you much better advice.

I understand and I don't mean to question you by any means however I guess I don't understand why my doctor would have me get tested and why he told me I should test at 3 months again. Also other sources online say their is a risk with oral. Also some places say that PCR testing after 3 weeks give accurate results and some say it only is for testing the viral load their for it may not be accurate. Do you have any information on how accurate PCR testing is?

You did not need any type of testing because you did not put yourself at risk.
