How accurate is the test

I had an Rna hiv test done a month after exposure and it came back negative.  But the doctor still wants to do a 3 month antibody test. How accurate is the rna test at 4 weeks. Should I still be worried that I could have hiv. He refused to give me an percent and can't find online. Thanks

If your unprotected sex was heterosexual, and you don't know your partner's status, your chance of contracting HIV is 1 in a 1,000,000. HIV is rarely transmitted through oral or vaginal sex female to male. Your negative test result at 4 weeks is a very good indication that you did not contract HIV in the exposure you describe. Your 3 month test is just a formality. I would not expect your result to change.

Is it at least a fair indicator of being negative? Confused on why he did it if it does tell for sure. Or is it just highly accurate but not definitive.

RNA not a stand alone test, he was right to suggest an antibody test.

Unprotected sex. Drunken mistake. I just want to know if the 4 week rna test being negative is that accurate at 4 weeks. Doc refused to give numbers
