Could it be HIV???

I had protected sex, used a condom with someone I met online....he says I was the first person he'd been with in 18 months...the moment was a little awkward and I decided not to see him again.  Then he explained how he had just gotten over Hep A and Mono was young, inexperienced, etc. and begged for a second chance to 'prove' himself.  After a lot of pleading I gave in....thought he was genuine and honest enough.  The second time was unprotected and he mentioned he wished he weren't sick and that he killed people, then described his military involvements/ambitions.  (anycase I was a little skeered).  Several weeks later I developed sever flu-like achy symptoms and was having some vaginal symptoms...have been being treated for BV & yeast for nearly 4 months now...I also developed symptoms of what I think is vaginal herpe, I test positeve for HSV1, I've had it all my life...but never downstairs.  I had a spot painted last week and thick yellow pus like discharge came out of the vagina and I have had small spots on my chin/face resemble acne sort of, but with yellow pus like discharge to come and go.  After I had the vaginal spots painted I had the severe back and body aches, inside burning sensations all over again, stiff neck, my back/spine feels like it is broken....I have tested for HIV atleast twice since this encounter and both were negative...my last test was last week...but I still feel very tired, achy, and weak between the two outbreak/episodes.  I had a complete STD work up and the only thing that has shown up is HSV1.  Do you think this is a systemic herpetic outbreak...I've heard that new outbreaks can last months, recurrantly...etc.  or is there still a possiblity of HIV.  This person was supposed to be well or getting better from his illnessess but I notice even the last time I spoke to him that he has a sniffle and short dry hacky cough.  I am SCARED!!!!

the only way to know your status is by testing at the appropriate time.  symptoms cant be used for that purpose...as the symptoms of early infection are the same as many, common everyday illnesses.

Thanks Lizzie....I'm just freaking out...I had read on several CDC websites that it could take months even years to develop antibodies and what he told me about Hep A and Mono is bad enough and with the other symptoms I was wondering what he may NOT have told me, especially since several of these things carry the same or similar signs/symptoms.

Another thing, my husband had the same initial sever flu-like virus during the same time I did...I noticed yesterday he is covered in small red blotchy all over his skin...his flu-like symptoms were nearly 6-8 weeks ago...I'm the one having a re-occurance with the pain, achiness, etc.  I pray that it is just coincidence and not something else.

a hiv test done at 3 months post exposure will be conclusive.

this forum is hiv specific...so any questions regarding other stds should be addressed on the std forum.
