RISK from CLINIC

Hi,

Last week I went to a free clinic in NYC to get a rapid 4th gen test. I did not see the counselor open anything new, but everything looked new so I didn't question at what time. After I got my negative results, I found out the person before me tested positive which got me very worried as the counselor was in a rush and since I didn't see anything being opened in front of me I got concerned what if ON ACCIDENT something was reused. I know lancets cannot be reused. But what about those plastic capillary tubes? That they use to suck up your blood to place on the test?I saw a few lying around and am wondering if it is possible if the tube was reused on accident could I be infected from my finger prick cut that was bleeding?

Thank you.

Thanks for answering. The woman who did the test was not a nurse and the clinic was very busy. That's why I got concerned because there were several tubes lying on the table.

It is abnormal to think a clinic put an untrained person in the job, and to think that no one died over the years as a result, and to think that you have uncovered this "dangerous employee" that they forgot about.

Irrational thinking.  Nobody gets infected from a testing clinic.  EVER.

And as ANM pointed out, you're not getting injected with blood - they're drawing it out of you.  Ignore this and move on.

You had blood taken not injected so can't have a risk.

She takes 100 blood tests a day so knows how to do her job otherwise there would be a lot of dead people from her.
Try to relax because it is a bit strange for you to think you know how to do her job better than a trained nurse who does it all day long.
