HIV Transmission

Hi,

I am paranoid. I was out a bar last weekend and I was the only one sober and had been drinking Red Bulls all night. I went to the bathroom and left my drink and purse with my friends to watch it. They were all intoxicated so I'm not sure how much they were paying attention. But a little while after I took a swig and felt like something other than the Redbull got inside of my mouth and immediately spit it out. I don't remember the drink tasting weird or anything but I did notice that there were a few reddish/orange spots on the top of the can. I'm just concerned that if someone, somehow got blood in my drink or maybe even their spit that I could get HIV once it was in my mouth. I know that you would have had to have a sore or cut for it get in and I had bitten the inside of my cheek earlier that evening so I am just concerned and curious at the likelihood of HIV transmission that way.

Thank you!

you had NO risk, regardless of what went into your mouth

so even if I had a little tiny cut in my mouth from biting my cheek, I had no exposure?? Its just weird because I felt something like a little piece of who knows what got into my mouth.

You did not have a risk for HIV after swallowing something strange from a Red Bull drink at the bar! HIV is transmitted from unprotected vaginal/anal sex, sharing needles for drug use and from Mother to Baby!

There is no likelihood of tranmission of HIV in the scenario that you are concerned about.

HIV is a very fragile virus and small changes in temperature, moisture leves, PH etc.. render it inactive and unable to infect.

The situation you are worried about is impossible.
