Deep kissing with hiv+ man

Dear Teak, Lizzie Lou etc,

Hello everyone. My encounter happened 2 months ago. I met a guy in a bar and he seemed like a nice man so we started dancing. I got carried away and next thing I knew I took off my shirt on the dancefloor and he started carressing my nipples ( I'm not sure if he was pinching them but I do remember him fondling them with his fingers ) Then we found a perfect spot and started deep kissing and we kissed for about five minutes. I know that this is a very low risk activity so before we went any further I asked him if he was HIV+ and he said he was. I got scared cause I realized that I had pimples on my chin and breaks in my chin from the topical acne medication i was using. It wasn't bleeding at the time of the kiss but it was bleeding like two hours ago before I went to the club. Also, he licked my ears and put his tongue inside my ear and I was licking his neck at the same time. I am now really scared and I think I'm going out of my mind! Please help me as I am now a wreck. I don't know what to do. By the way I don't think he licked my chin but I could be mistaken as I was having a great time with him. Please help!

Thanks. I was just wondering about the extenuating circumstances that I ha at the time of the deep kiss with tongue action such as open pimples, cuts and breaks in the skin that weren't bleeding at that time. And a huge dental cavity inside my mouth. I get really worried and afraid because of this. Plus I don't know the man's dental health other factors such as his viral load or if he is on meds. Do these things make a difference?

No need for testing. You found some obsecure case that was done in 1997. One case out of millions where someone said all they did was kiss. You know what that tells me? Someone from that case lied because if kissing was a risk most of the planet would have HIV by now.

You need to move past this, either by therapy or just on your own but you had no risk.

I don't understand how this couldn't be a risk despite of a case in 1997. It's just confusing but it's a good thing that the mouth is a hostile place for the virus. I'm afraid to get tested. should I?

So basically there's no chance of transmission given the factors of possible open cuts, big dental cavities? I'm just so stressed right now. :(

Thanks for the quick reply, I really appreciate it I forgot to mention that I have cavities in my mouth and my gums bleed when I floss but not when I brush and my dentist says that I dont have any gum disease. Sorry, I am freaking out about these things. My friend who knows about this incident keeps telling me to let go and forget about this but my anxiety just keeps kicking in. Over the weeks I haven't had any fever and no swollen lymph nodes. I do get mild night sweats but not really drenching my sheets. And my sleeping pattern has totally been screwed up as I keep waking up in the middle of the night. Do these additional info make any difference in your opinion? And does anyone concur with JeanClaude's assessment about my risk? Sorry if I'm being annoying. This is really freaking me out. :(

This is exactly why HIV Informational sites have been created. There is absolutely NO RISK of HIV transmission through deep kissing or licking REGARDLESS of HIV status.
