Hiv Combo Test vs. PCR Test

Greetings,

I have done a combo test 20 and 40 days after exposure, and the results came out negative for both. I have also done a PCR test around 30-35 days after exposure. The blood sample was sent overseas for analyzing  and the results came back today as the following: ""<20 copies/mL". What does that mean?

PCR tests are not for primary screening. These tests are quantitative tests, measuring the actual viral count (expressed in number of copies per ml of the sample) and are used for monitoring of viral load in the infected people.

HIV Duo test, on the other hand are Qualitative tests, either negative or positive. These tests are recommended for primary screening of the infection. A PCR test has a minimum limit of reading viral load. It varies between 50 and 20. If anyone has zero vial load (not infected), the test will be reported as "<mimimum detection limit".

Therefore your both tests support each other, you do not have HIV
