Oral sex is safe because saliva contains certain enzyme that kills the HIV virus. However, theoretically it is possible if there are sores or other cuts inside the mouth from where blood or fluid containing HIV can get direct access to the blood stream. But there are no reported cases of HIV infection through oral sex.
