Girlfriend diagnosed. Worried.

After 2 yr relationship consisting of 100+ unprotected vaginal sex episodes, woman, after becoming pregnant, waz diagnosed w/HIV. My tests are as follows (days post last exposure): Rapid (day 3), Oral Swab (day 8), Rapid and lab 4th gen (day 10), HIV RNA (day 12 and 20), Rapid and lab 4th gen (day 28), HIV RNA and lab 4th gen (day 35), Rapid and lab 4th gen (day 42), and Rapid (day 48). All negative. Can I conclude this? Please, some sound advice.

Thx, Alderick, for your reply. Now, I've had 4th gen negative result at day 55. Tryna feel reassured, and of course, your advice was sound. Thx.

I'm glad, those are excellent news!

Hello again, as I'm not a doctor I can't advice you to skip the confirmatory test at 12 weeks, but I can tell you that your result is almost as good as conclusive and extremely unlikely to change later.

However you got checked by a doctor, he has the freedom to advice you to skip that last test, and he did.

If I were you, I'd follow your doctor's advice, but testing or not is a personal matter, now you have all the information you need to make an excellent choice.

Thx, again, Alderick, also for the link. I've read countless threads from him where he also advised a hault to testing after 28 day 4th gen after risks similar to mine. I guess my anxiety is sparked by old stories of late seroconversion. In your opinion, are the modern tests really foolproof. Sorry to hammer you but I just need the reassurance. Hopefully you're not irritated, bro.

And is Dr HHH or Hook still around? No more expert forum?

No, this isn't a doctors forum, answers here are given by other users. Dr Hansfield left something worth reading about window periods.

As I told you, doctors have the freedom to advice people to stop testing, as your doctor did. I don't seen anything wrong with that.

Thx, Alderick. I've had doctor actually ask me why I was even getting tested after the 28 day test. Not to mention, on the expert forum here as well as freedom health forum, it's been hammered into questioners at least every post, even w/risks like mine, that 28 days is final w/4th gen test and at best fully conclusive after another test in another two weeks. What's your take?

Your 4th gen negative after 6 weeks is an excellent indicator about you status, almost as good as conclusive, and very unlikely to change in the future. But only a doctor, based on your risk level and his experience could advice you to skip a confirmatory test after 12 weeks post exposure.
