HIV Anxiety and symptoms

Dear Doctor H,
5-6 weeks ago I went to the Dentist.  I bled when he scraped my gums to remove plaque.  I asked if the equipment was sterile and he said it was.  I asked how they sterilize the equipment, and they said autoclave.  I still had an odd feeling about the dentist after I left.

Now I have been experiencing Headaches which will not go away, swollen lymph nodes, and aches and pains in my neck and back, but no fever  I know I should not be worried, but yet I am. Extremely worried.

My Questions: what are the odds I got HIV from unsterilized equipment?
Have you ever heard about James Sharpe who supposedly got HIV from unsterilized dental equipment in 1996, in Massachusetts and is this possible?
And  lastly do you believe I need to go get tested?

Thank you!

What is my level of risk in this situation?  I have heard of the one person who was infected by unsterilized instruments.

If you don't believe your dentist. Then how do you think other doctors can convince you on anything?
Talk again to your dentist, and if the dentist still unable to convince you take a single HIV test on 3 months mark, not because you need it but to help you put your worry permanently at rest.

Be well, stay well.

GOD Bless!
