HIV Test differences

I recently tested negative at 86 days (blood ***** on finger) and was wondering if OraQuick Advanced is the standard test used in health clinics in the US?  I wanted to know if a clinic does use an OraQuick product (which my clinic did), if the Advanced test is the only product used.

I know that the Advanced checks for both HIV 1 and HIV 2 versus just an OraQuick test that only checks for HIV-1.  I don't remember which one was used and if I should test again for another strain of HIV.  I didn't even know there were multiple strains and when I recently found out, it scared me.

While HIV-2 is rare, I did have exposure to someone from India living in the US and my symptoms aren't going away (muscle aches, tiredness, funny rashes, white/sour stuff on tongue)

Since the advanced test is newer and more 'Advanced' is it safe to say a clinic would offer this one only?

Anyone with any information, please advise.

Thanks!

I called my clinic and my conclusive test at 86 days was NEGATIVE.  It was the OraQuick Advanced which checks both hiv 1 and hiv 2.  I had a LOW RISK exposure and let all my worries take over my life.

I HAD EVERY SYMPTOM...headache, major body aches, rashes, fatigue, diarrhea, flu-like illness, sore throat, major dry skin, cold sore near lip, funny blood spots inside of cheek, funny rash in both armpits, head rash, body rash, and even thrush-like stuff/white sour coating in tongue, throat, cheeks, white spots on tongue, along with severe dry mouth and possible beginning stages of gingivitis.

I am DONE with this and will enjoy my life once again while also seeking mental help to help me cope with the other issues that came about during this time (ANXIETY, STRESS, COMPULSIVENESS, low COPING skills).  I know that while I was going through this it was very agonizing and I didn't believe anybody I spoke to, but I am on the other side of the tunnel ever more trusting, more calm, and even more grateful.

Thank you to all those who took the time to help me during all of this.  You and your loved ones will be in my prayers.  I have gone through this and now hope to help others how ever that may present itself in my life.

Thank you once again!
