Ok, I am past the 3 month period now so I will go get re-tested. Thank you very much for all your help!
good indication but not conclusive
relax...get that conclusive test at 3 months
Hello again,
Had an hiv blood test at 51 days post exposure, the result was negative. Since then I have hardly thought about it.
Is this result 99.8% conclusive as people have said on various threads? Or should I be tested again?
first and foremost...10 seconds of unprotected vaginal sex is not likely to transmit hiv.
stop with the symptom checking...i could probably find things about myself that are "related" to hiv infection if i SEARCHED enough...i dont have hiv.
to know your status...test.
relax
Sorry to trouble you again vance, but i have another query(struggling to wrestle my mind off the topic)...
I am now 7.5 days post exposure, and today my throat glands became swollen too. However, due to my other glands swelling 5 days post exposure and the fact that the ones in my groin and armpits ache (teak has posted elsewhere that ars swelling does not hurt), would it be reasonable for me to completely discount these symptoms as ARS?
This is baring in mind that I do not have a sore throat, rash or fever...
Sorry to be a pest, jst difficult to keep off the mind whilst waiting for testing period. Any advice on achieving this would be incredible too!
thanks very much vance, slightly reassured now...jst waiting it out for the 28 day test now.
Nodes if you can find them will swell for many reasons and one is because you keep touching them. 6 days is way to early for ARS.
Thanks for the advice Teak,
Very worried now at 6 days post exposure, the glands in my groin and armpits are swollen and i have a slightly sore throat.
I have read in some of your other posts that this is to early to be ARS related? Also is it possible that the lymph glands are only swollen because i am consistenly feeling them due to anxiety?
DUO tests are not conclusive until 3 months post exposure.
you can take a HIV duo test at 28 days post exposure it has a 99.8% accuracy and reduces the 3 month waiting time,I would get it done if I was you!
Hey thanks for the advice.
Three quick queries:
-Does the fact that I had a tiny break of skin on my foreskin increase the chances of contracting the virus?
-I know that symptoms are not indicative of hiv, the only sure way to know is testing, but if I were to experience symptoms, how soon after the exposure would this occur? I wouldn't experience any after 2 days would I?
-Is there anything I can do now, or do I have to wait for 3 months before testing?
hello
You had a brief moment of unprotected sex... HIV can be transmitted via unprotected sex, so I suggest you get tested at the 3month mark.
Be safe..
