HIV Test

Greetings
I had protected sex, no oral play with a massage parlor worker 4 months back. This week my elisa test came back reactive while western blot test indicated negative result for hiv. I assume this is a false positive result for elisa. I also did 2 oraquick tests which were negative.

Do you think o am infected?

Thanks in advsnce

One; You had protected sex. That rule's out HIV.
Two! Yes, unfortunately you had a reactive result. A false positive happens from time to time. Today's test's are so sensitive that unfortunately they do sometimes pick up other infections.
Three; You followed up with other test's immediately which were negative.
Four; 6 months for conclusive test is outdated information.
Five; Your 17 week test confirmed you are negative.
Congratulations.

Doctors office opinion is negative but they ran viral load test to rule out early infection. They ask that we run the test again in 6-8 weeks which makes it 6 months since me having sex with condom.

Thanks for your reply

The rash can't be from that exposure as it was too soon for you to have those symptoms. Have you had other tests?

I also had rash on my face and neck the very same evening that i had sex. It lasted for 2 weeks and went away. 2.5 months later i had flu with fever and sinus pain but no sore throat. It went away within 8 days.
