8 weeks is a VERY good indication of your status and HIGHLY unlikely to change.
expect a negative at your 3 month test.
Sorry to hear about the Chlamydia and Gonorrhea situation. I hope you get feeling better soon.
Regarding HIV, they are telling you to go back at 12 weeks, because 12 weeks or 3 months is what most state health officials consider to be the testing window for HIV. However, most people usually sero-convert 2 to 4 weeks after contracting the virus. If you were tested at 8 weeks and came back negative, I wouldn't be too worried about it (but I would still abstain from sexual activity, just to be safe, but that is just what I would do personally).
I have never heard of someone coming back as HIV sero-positive at 12 weeks after an 8 week negative result. It's quite rare. I've been told people get the test at 12 weeks/3 months to confirm that their previous screen was accurate, and these HIV tests are more than 99% accurate. Some health officials will say there is a 6 month window, but that's for people who are extremely immuno-compromised (i.e. Chemotherapy, or radiation treatment patients), or those who have had post exposure prophylaxis.
Good luck!
Your 3 month post exposure test will be conclusive.
Thanks everyone for your replies, I've had all the symptoms apart from rash so really scared but guess I will have to get a test done.
If you had true symptoms between 2-4 weeks post exposure then most likely your test at 8 weeks would have been positive. Since it was negative it shows that you probably didn't have true symptoms.
Fanx u have given me hope even tough my symptoms were at about 5 weeks. I have what I think is a White tounge :(
