HIV possible exposure penis head entered vagina

4 Weeks ago I went for a nude massage. As I was lying on my back the lady came up and she moved her pelvic area up and by accident my penis head (only my head) entered her vagina. I pulled out immediately, but can still feel that sucking feeling on my penishead as she clamped my penis head with her vagina. She apologized. I had precum and from memory (let’s assume) she was wet. I had no sex with her once I pulled out. I called the place twice already and they said the ladies have no STD’s including HIV. I went to the hospital on day 2 and they gave me PEP. Went to the clinic on day 4 and they stated risk is so to say zero and took me off the PEP. The first week I was having peeing issues and pain in the scrotum – still do not know why, assume it is the PEP. Been to clinic back home at day 8 – no STD. Day 23 follow up for STD – all good. It felt like I was getting a cold last week (that feeling of there is a virus in you), but flu tablets took that away immediately. Got a coldsore in my mouth (only one), but the doctor recons (she knows the story) it is the Corsodyl that irritated my mouth and the fact that I am stressing too much (have lost 7 pounds in 4 weeks) and gave me Valaciclovir. The sore in my mouth is going away, either due to the saltwater I used or the Valaciclovir.  Now I am stressed and to make things worse it is my busiest time at work (50 hours plus per week). At 4 weeks post exposure I am not showing any signs (flu, fever, rash etc) based on what I  googled. Maybe it is just me that need re-assurance and I know there is a risk, but what is the risk based on what I have described. Current symptom – only one cold sore, throat feeling like there is something, but I recon with my immune system at its lowest, that might explain it and also the fact that I am feeling tired – not sleeping well. Clinic said I can have a 4 week HIV blood test, although they stated 6 weeks is minimum.

Dear Nurse. Thanks for the answer. The worries are getting to me, but I will just have to wait. 4 Week 3rd generation test came back negative. I am getting this tingling, burning feeling in lower legs, arms, feet and palms and not sure what this is. It seems allot of people in my situation have this and unsure why, since other posts say it is not seroconversion nor ARS related. I believe (have to) that I am negative and will have my 6 week test next week. Thank you

Your 3 month post exposure test will be conclusive. You can never go by symptoms, some people don't even have symptoms.

Question. Had a 4 week test today and getting result tomorrow. How accurate is a 4 week result. I am going back for the 6 week test as well. In my case had no flu like symptoms and the doctor stated the stomach rumbling, nauseas, chills for 1 nights and the constant headache is anxiety and guilt. I recon the main question is how accurate will a 4 week test be, although I know follow up tests would need to be done

Your doctor is correct. You don't need an PCR-RNA test and it is not a stand alone test.

Just in addition to my prior message. I am getting tested tomorrow (4 weeks post exposure) and realize that testing is essential. My issue is just that the people over here seem in a rush (i.e my doctor), well maybe because there is only so much they can say. I have for example requested teh RNA test, but my doctor said no - will ask the clinic again tomorrow, since my understanding is that the RNA test is 100% or 99.999% accurate

Hi , the cold sore on my lip has not gone and I seem to be getting more. Now I am either overusing the saltwater or the mouth wash for alcers. Questions, what comes first ARS (flu like symptoms) or cold sores/mouth alchers. last night I was sweating with a temp of 35.6C and my body just feels generaly down and weak, but flu liek symptoms no. I do feel I have a virus. My symptoms fatige, headache, but no flu like symptoms. Would HIV show up on a 4 week test if the above symptoms are HIV

No.  When ARS (true ARS) symptoms occur, which are very inconsistent from person to person, the symptoms are severe, not like cold symptoms.  Usually the person is down and out, for a while.  Cold symptoms are not related to HIV.

Thank you for the prompt reply. I am just a worried pot and look forward to the 4 week HIV test, even though early. Anything to put the mind to rest. you are correct 2 seconds max. Coming down with a cold now - can feel it coming, and believe it is due to me being stressed out. One question, with HIV if they say flu like - they will not be referring to a commom cold

It sounds like the length of time your penis was inside was extremely brief (like a second or two?).  If so, that makes your risk pretty low.  I wouldn't be worried too much about this if I were you.

Of course, testing isn't a bad idea, but I'm sure you will be just fine.
