What is the earliest that I can have an HIV test after potential exposure? I had unprotected oral sex with a prostitute 2 weeks ago and am not sure I can wait 3 months. Can it be done earlier?
he had oral sex, so not really test nedeed, the PCR DNA HIV test does have a shorter window period of 15 days, but this test also have a false positive rate of 2-8% so its really high, just imaging how worried or desperate you will be if you had a false positive, a test at 6 weeks is 95% accurate, and at 3 months conclusive
You can take a PCR DNA HIV test which is very expensive and they can look for the virus not just antibodies. Since you are past the 2 week window period they can see if the virus is in you system.
