Yes, I realize that! Thank you! In case anyone inquires about where to get free HIV testing done...I highly recommend my experience with "Out of the Closet Thrift Stores." Anything you buy in their store contributes to AIDS research too! Truly a great concept, and an every greater experience!
You received a differing opinion from someone that is not educated in HIV transmission and testing. As you were told you don't have any reason to be concerned.
I didn't see a reason either until my friend wigged out. The whole experience was wonderful and quick. He used a one-time-use lancet, and the OraQuick HIV Rapid test. He assured me that everything was safe and sterile! I didn't think it was an issue until I received a differing opinion!
The rapid tests don't require a nurse or doctor to administer them. Anyone with a few hours of training would be qualified to administer the tests. There are testing centers like that all over the country that cater to at-risk people and it is not unusual that a thrift store in Hollywood that apparently caters to gay people would offer rapid testing. I see no reason why you should be concerned.
