HIV testing

Just wondering, I am interested in getting tested for HIV again since time I was tested was about a year ago. My last high risk encounter was back in Sept of 08 and was tested in April 09. I was negative and have only had oral sex since, but started to show "signs" of HIV starting in Dec 09 (which I dunno how long it takes anyway for signs to appear.) I went to my dr. to get tested but it was way too expensive for me, though I am concerned of my health and want an update anyway. My friend gave me a website for a take home test that you do and send it back for only $60, but I am a little sketchy on trusting that method so I was wondering if anyone has any opinions on how reliable take home tests are. I would go to the health clinic here, but time is a constraint due to work and, at least here, they still charge you for the test.  Any information would be appreciated.

Oh, I know from that encounter. I just want to get my test for this year out of the way so I have it for my partner, but I don't want to spend a lot of money haha.

You don't need to retest your last test was conclusive.
