Get your partner tested and if you feel you are not satisfied you can go to ask a doc forum for help they are the specialist and throw better light on complicated issues like PEP these are strong medicine with some side effects.... as such not everyone is recomended to the program...... TEAK can advice you better he is more experienced then all of us here
I saw my doctor yesterday and she didn't seem concerned at all. She was more worried about other STI's such as gonorrhea, chlamydia and syphilis and gave me preliminary tests and wants me to go back in about two weeks for others. She said the incidence of HIV in my city is relatively low and that she didn't feel like PEP was for me. I was just looking for other opinions on the matter. I guess I'm more concerned because I"m uncircumcised and I didn't know the guy I was with. Other opinions are greatly appreciated.
Consult. Doctor Bout pep reserved for those who are sure of partners status viral load and other STD'S....... shorter duration of exposure reduces the risk of infection but again the risk is still there PEP is a complicated question as it is hard to complete the course 80 percent of the people who start it Re not able to complete it...... as such you should take the advice of the doctor his assessment of your case would be different with that of others and accordingly he would prescribe what's best for you
It is a risk. You might want to contact the person you had sex with and ask about testing. Very concerned...I'd be some what concerned.
Should I be very concerned though?
PEP is normally reserved for those with unprotected sex with someone known to he HIV+.
3 month test will be conclusive for you.
