contact with doctor for ur health condition. not for HIV. for others.
Latex or Poly Condoms are 100% safe in relation to HIV transmission if they remain intact .
I see..
By the way, my GP said to me that a condom is not 100% safe, is that true ? how ? and why ?
If the condom breaks or falls off completely it's an event you would not be guessing about.
Many viruses can be transmitted by sexual or even just casual contact or proximity to the carrier.
HIV on the other hand can only be passed on when in direct contact inside the body.
Hello Hangon51, thanks for replying..
I wish I didn't have an exposure..
I appreciate your supporting Sir..
Well,I have two questions if you could answer..
- how can I know if the condom breaks or not ?
- is there any normal virus (such as cold, flu.etc..) which can be transmitted during a sexual contact ?
ARS symptoms do not come this fast after exposure. But more importantly, you never had an exposure.
What you said is this:
"About a month ago, I had a protected oral and vaginal sex with the same condom with a prostitute."
If this is correct and the condom didn't break then you never needed testing in the first place.
Thank you for replying.. I wish so..
But you know, the flu-like symptoms I had immediately after after one day which lasts about 3 - 4 weeks made me worried and stressed.
I am still asking myself.. if these are a viral infection symptoms, what virus is it ?
You never had a risk and don't need any HIV testing.
Hello Sir,
I did a PCR test for HIV after three weeks from the possible infection and the result is negative. Is it possible that the test couldn't detect the virus because of the window period or a false negative result for example ?
Are 3 weeks enough to detect the virus by a PCR test ?
Now I have prostatitis and a low number of white blood cells, the doctor said that they might be a result from a viral infection you catch during the sexual intercourse. Is that possible ?
What do you think about it ?
thank you in advance..
If you are concerned about your symptoms see your doctor, they have nothing to do with HIV.
Those scary images that you saw were from the 80's & early 90's,people that have AIDS these days don't look like that because many of there symptoms can be treated now so there is no need to be afraid.HIV is no longer a death sentence anymore but that doesn't mean people should stop using protection.
Thank you for your response..
I am sorry (nursegirl6572) if I said something offensive, because I am young and I didn't read enough about HIV.. All I know is that it's a fatal disease and I saw pictures and videos which made me scared.
I have a question : If I didn't have a risk, what is the explanation of all these symptoms which came immediately after 2 - 3 hours and I still suffer till now after 4 weeks ?
You didn't have a risk, and if you're suicidal, you should seek professional help ASAP.
People live with HIV every day, and live a normal life span with the right medical care. To say you would commit suicide if HIV + is disrespectful to every person living with HIV.
You do not have an HIV concern you never had an exposure.
