unprotected sex

Hi Im 4 months pregnant, and ended up having unprotected vaginal sex with a person a week ago... Now am dead scared about contracting HIV and passing it on to my baby... he`s 200% sure he isnt Hiv possitive, but knowing the fact that he has regular sex with different partners, worries me... what are my chances on contracting the virus??and the baby getting it at this stage..
Thankyou

The only way to know is to test unfortunately.  3 months post exposure is reliable and conclusive.

Your chances are very slim. As long as the guy is not bisexual. I would get a ELISA antibodie test at 8 weeks after you had sex. At 8 weeks the test will be 99.99% accurate. Tests now adays can detect very small amounts of antibodies so you don't need to wait the full 3 months to have an very very accurate test.  The CDC says to have is done at 3 months but that is very conservative. STD specialests have never seen anyone that was HIV - at 8 weeks and became HIV + at 12 weeks

3 months is when you can obtain a conclusive negative test result. There are NO TESTS manufactured, marketed or sold that will give you a conclusive negative test earlier than 3 months.

Hi, now its been 3 weeks, and I had a sore throat that lasted for 1 night, and now the blocked nose,, but no fever, or rash, or any other symptom of the flu...can this be a symptom of HIV by any chance??

its common cold..dont think too much about hiv..
test at 6-8 weeks for a good indication of your status
test again at 3 months for a conclusive result..
dont worry as not every person has got hiv, and it may not be transmitted through a single exposure, plus your partner claims to be 200% sure..
so dont worry..just test to find out..wishing u all the best
next time never go unprotected
