needlestick exposure to HIV

I am a medical technologist who had a needlestick injury to an hiv positive patient, and took a 30 day course of pep medication.  Patient was Negative for HEP B and HEP C. I have had the following tests: baseline=negative hiv, negative Hep C, six weeks from  exposure=negative HIV antibody 1/2 screen, 3 months post exposure=negative hiv antibody 1/2 screen. I have left my previous job and since moved to california. I have started seeing a new dr who i just recently had my yearly female check up with. He also did another HIV 1/2 antibody test as well as a HEP C test which has come back negative. This test put me 27 days shy of the six month post exposure mark. Do i need to take another test in 27 days, or are these tests enough to rule out hiv? thank you for your help.

Thank you everyone for you assistance and time answering my questions. You all do such a wonderful job helping people.  My final question is, my husband is renewing his contract for the military and for insurance we both have to submit to a physical and answer health questions. Even tho I am negative, do I have to disclose that ive taken pep? And is pep different from npep?

It would be positive when you received your 3 month test if nPEP failed.

It is conclusive if you go by the CDC guidelines and the manufactures of the tests.

3 months after your last dose of PEP is conclusive- you read correctly.

I posted because I do not know the answer. I appologize as I am not fimilar with HIV testing and has never had to go through this before. Ive only read that a conclusive result is three months from last pep dose. I have also read that the six month guidlines are outdated. Im just eondering if I need to test again, or if my test is now conclusive?

Why did you post the question if you already knew the answer?

no workmans comp, im not working at the moment. The move was due to my husband's unit being stationed in california. I was under the impression that 3 months post exposure was conclusive, or if one was on pep that it was 3 months post last dose of pep? is that not correct? So my tests are not concluvisve then?

It's not conclusive if you are using worker's comp.

I am unable to follow their guidlines because this happend in new york, I now live in california. So i would be unable to return for a blood test by this employer. Their guidlines are six months post exposure. My last test was 27 days shy of that six month mark, and was ordered by my new dr in california. Is this conclusive, or do i need another one in 27 days?
