I don't undertand, i need advise

Hello Dr,

I was tested six months ago and all was clear.

I had a possible exposure(vaginal)  about three months ago due to condom failure, she was a friend and insisted on condoms before sex, I stopped before ejaculation and continued with a new condom. The prevalence of HIV in Nigeria is less than 4% according to statistics.

I went to a strange lab in Nigeria they took my blood, centrifuged it and ten minutes later gave me a sheet of paper and ushered me out. This was not a government laboratory so their standards are questionable.

The paper stated I tested positive. I did some research and found out that they violated the conduct set out by the government here. They were meant to refer me for a further check and not diagnose me as such.

I don't understand I''ve not been ill once, no swollen glands, no chills, no fever, no sweats, no diarrhea nothing. It appears they did a rapid test but I have no idea which one it was or the quality of it.

Is it true that there are false positives on rapid tests??

Pls advise thank you

You are not positive until your test is confirmed.

I have spoken to an advisor here and I was told that all reactive results are to be confirmed with a western blot because not all labs in nigeria have proper equipment. I was there for ten minutes,  and I was not referred to a government lab. I am so confused

Had he tested positive they would have given him a Western Bolt to confirm it.

its had to really judge if a lab is good or not,if u have doubts in the results they gave you i suggest you try a government one,and before the test pray to God,only HE has the power to decide whats GOOD for you, when you pray ask HIM to let his will be done in your life,Tell HIM to let his plans for you alone come to pass, and BELIEVE,your test will confidently come back negative, cause GOD'S plans for you has no hiv in it,just blessings and healthy living
