Hi Lizzie,

I too am suffering from severe anxiety and guilt, I stupidly had a drunken episode in Thailand recently. I had protected vaginal sex and unprotected oral. (insertive) Every post I read says no risk...I am suffering for every classic HIV symptom now from night sweats, swollen groin nodes, geographic tongue with lesions rapid weight loss and now numb tingling abd burning hands and feet. I am going out of my mind as a result. If I have got HIV I can live with it but have a partner I am now terrified as she is getting flu symptoms now. Do you know of any other reasons for what these symptoms could be from or know of anyone with the same who tested negative. I have seen some cases of some symptoms but not all of which I have. I could not live on knowing I had infected my partner and ruined our lives and marrige.
Thanks

Her status is irrelevant- you never had a risk, even if she was positive.

Ok.

So, considering your answers, I have another question if possible:

sex worker said me she did an ELISA test 8-9 months ago and it was NEGATIVE.

She also said me she practiced only unprotected oral sex, and never unprotected vaginal or anal sex.

assuming she is telling the truth, what chance she is HIV-positive ?

Thanks

Enough is enough....get tested if you need to, the result will be negative.

Yes i checked out other posts on this forum about CDC.

About my risk, only test will reassure me.

my only hope is based on in this forum there's not a a case of one become positive with oral sex.

I'll be the first one?

Matt, this is brought up here, almost daily.

The CDC is extremely conservative, and due to liability reasons, lists it as a low risk.  Truth of the matter is, if oral was a true risk, there would be newly reported cases every day, and there just isn't.  Half the world would be infected by now.

Search the forum, you will find many many discussions about oral sex.  Same with our expert forum here.

We're not going to keep going back and forth.  We've given you our risk assessment.  You are not obligated to take it.  Time to move on.

i found this

http://www.cdc.gov/hiv/resources/factsheets/oralsex.htm

"numerous studies have demonstrated that oral sex can result in the transmission of HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs)"

they say it is possible to get hiv........u say not, where is the truth?

Thanks all for your answers

I'm sure you are right, but I can not convince myself....maybe only the test result will do it...I will keep you updated

Lizzie is right, you had no risk.

The following are the only ways a person can get HIV:

1.  Unprotected vaginal or anal sex
2.  Sharing IV drug works
3.  From mother to child.

Don't give it another thought....no worries, no risk, no testing needed.

worry only creates a risk in your mind.

you had NO RISK from what you've described and testing is not needed.

Nice answer.

So u say,

no risk for passive oral sex
no risk for kissing....

You'll bet all on this statements?

no test required (for diagnostic purposes only)

sorry but I'm worried

from the hiv experts here at medhelp:

"Kissing is no risk, even deep ("French") kissing and even with a person who sores on their mouth or has gum or dental disease."   DR HOOK

"Of course no risk. HIV is not transmitted by kissing, even with sores in the mouth.

Despite the billions of kissing events in the AIDS era, not one case of HIV has been known to be transmitted that way, even though millions of those kisses undoubtedly were with cuts in the mouth or on the lips."

Thanks,

another fear

I kiss her, not deep, and unfortunately I realized that I had a cavity in a tooth, and there was the presence of blood...

perhaps the risk was here....

Is there, in this forum, any case of HIV infection with passive fellatio or kiss (with some blood maybe)? Maybe i'll be the first one?
