Hi, I may have an exposure due to suspected needle reuse during blood drawn by technician by mistake. My exposure was in 1st aug and on 2 nd Aug I got mild fever 99-99.5 C and after 3-4 days it was gone . On 9th Aug I got 3 discrete rash in my right thigh. Rash was first pink in colur and on applying antifungal/bacterial med it turned red. Rash is flat, red with no bumps and slight itching is there. Its been 3 days and rash is still there.
1. Is fever and rash at this time Ars signs???
2. Am I at risk if needle was reused. I hear that during blood drawn using vacutainer needle blood is sucked out from vein and nothing goes inside.
3. Is there any test now to get conclusive result. pls help, I think I put myself in risk. And this rash thing is making me more anxious. I may be in a no risk situation but the ssymptomsis making me think otherwise.

Vance has already told you, needles are not reused. They are designed for single-use only.

James / Vance.. I do not doubt your assessment and frankly speaking getting your advise helped me to take my anxiety off...
But there is always a chance of error and if that happened does my rash timing / characteristic / location has any similarities with ARS rash..

It's not ARS as you've not had an HIV risk.
