Hello,
Thanks for sharing useful information about HIV, it's a great forum. I have had one time unprotected anal sex (Insertive) with a bisexual male 10 weeks ago. I got gonorreah from that occasion which I was treated one week after that. I did HIV tests in 12 days (regular blood test) and three rapid tests at 33 days, 45 days and 9 weeks, all negative. But I am worried alot, all the time and know that I have to repeat the test at three months for conclusive results. I have developed huge anxiety since two weeks after exposure, when the result of gonorrhea cam back positive. I am so frustrated and can not concentrate at work, worrying about the test at 12 weeks.
My question is: Is there any correlation between immune system strength and the time that antibodies start to produce during the window period, in the HIV+ cases? In other words, the stronger the immune system, the earlier the antibodies start to appear? The reason I am asking this is that, I heard if the immune system is weak or non-existant, in case of sever cancer, the antibodies start to be showing up later during the window period(maybe later than three months).
I greatly appreciate your thoughts or facts. Thanks a lot.
