Insertive top, PEP

At 3:30 to 4 AM last night I topped a guy in a dark room at a bar. I was very drunk and did not use a condom. It lasted maybe all of 30 seconds to a minute-- I recall about four pumps.

Knowing that it's a risk, I went to an LGBT community health clinic that works with HIV positive folks daily and got PEP. The physician's assistant initially was going to prescribe Stribild but there was an issue with prescriptions so she gave me a script for Truvada and said it was fine. She wouldn't recommend PEP in this situation given the low risk and that I don't need 3 drugs.

I've never had unprotected sex with a stranger ever, so I'm a bit worried.

What is the risk in this situation and is Truvada for PEP enough? I started about 8.5 hours after exposure (exposure: 3:30-4AM, first dose 12:40PM).

Thank you for your help.

I did know the difference between the two drugs.

Should you be holding someone's hand as they ask questions a majority of people already know the answer to? Maybe not. But being sarcastic and damning regarding circumstances of which you have little understanding of is demeaning, and one reason people do not get tested- fear of shame and judgement.

Yes, Teak, it's still 2014, but people still make mistakes and thank god we have the drugs to hopefully correct those mistakes. I'll be asking my questions at another forum. I hope you're happy with curt, mean responses to people who worried about their health.

I think people come to these forums for information, not sarcasm or shaming. And not all risks are the same. Obviously I made a mistake, but I was curious to seek out more information from various experts based on what I first wrote.

I just mean I don't know if he barebacks often. I can't make any judgements about him or what he does because I don't have the information. What I have said, what is the risk?

What does being in a dark room have to do with it?

I should also mention that I don't know this guys' status, but considering it was in a dark room, who knows?
