Low CD4 count would not effect seroconverion time? (CHEMO PATIENT ASKING)

So....

I would have seroconverted by now?

History:

I was diagnosed with diffuse large B-cell non-hodgkins lymphoma in April 2000. 8 cycles CHOP, BEAM stem-cell transplant and radiation therepy kicked the cancer's butt. I was fully complete with the therepies by spring of 2003. I have been cancer free since (I am due for the last followup soon). Question: how long after these treatments was my immune system compromised? I had a known, high risk sexual exposer to AIDS during the months of October-November 2003. I was not aware of my partner's status. Last exposure was November 2003. Apparently he was diagnosed with full blown AIDS February 2004.

I had a negative HIV test (ELISA) October 2005.
Another negative ELISA April 2007.

I just learned about his status last week. I just went in for a third HIV screening this past Thursday. Would the chemo and radiation therapy that I underwent in 2001-2002 delay HIV seroconversion for years? My counts were always within normal range at my followups. I also read in the following abstract that lymphocytes would return to normal ranges within 2 years post transplant, with the exception of cd4, which can take up to 6 years to reach a normal level?

Abstract:

I am due for an oncology followup soon.  I will talk to the doc then, but had I only been notified of his diagnosis!  I would have asked all of these questions years ago.

Please respond and thank you in advance. :)
