HIV Risk from bottoming with partner of unknown status?

I recently had anal intercourse with a man of unknown status. I was the bottom. When the condom was being put on by my partner, he started to first put it on the wrong way before it was turned around and then rolled onto his penis. Therefore, bodily fluids and/or pre-cum were on the outside of the condom – at which point we engaged in anal intercourse.

Could those fluids that were on the outside of the condom be a risk to me? I don’t my partner’s STD status, so I’m concerned mostly about HIV risk here because I’ve read that pre-cum can contain amounts of HIV.

Although I’ve heard that HIV cannot live outside of the body for too long, it was only about 10 seconds from application of condom to anal intercourse.

The condom did not break during anal as I checked it afterward. Looking forward to a professional's opinion on this risk!!!!

Only sex risk is unprotected penetrating vaginal or anal so that answers all your questions. Any air exposure ends the risk so it isn't necessary to time it.
A failed condom would rip down the seam, and hang in tatters btw, so would be very apparent to both people.
