Hi,
I am a Portuguese woman and first I would like to say sorry for my bad English. In Oct. 2007 I finished a relationship with a boy (it was my last exposure). We have done protected sex all the time however we had unprotected oral sex (without ejaculation).
After 3 months of that relationship (Jan. 2008), I was diagnosed with Molluscum Contagious in my genitals. I became very stressed out about that and I have tested four times on antibody tests (3rd generation), all tests were non-reactive (negative). I tested at 6, 7, 9 and 13 months after the last exposure. And I have also tested for syphilis and for hepatitis (B & C).
I don´t have molluscum at the moment but I have read on the internet that molluscum is most of the times related with HIV and was for that reason I became so anxious about this. Now, about 15 months after my exposure I noticed that my tongue seems white, I ‘m not sure if it seems coated or even hairy and sometimes burn and I’m having constantly neck aches.
In my last blood exams the only thing that seems abnormal was down neutrophils (like 1.26, around 30% of the total Leucocytes) and lymphocytes were superior than neutrophils but my doctor don´t seems worried about that, he told me that sometimes that inversion is normal.
I would like to ask your opinion: Is Molluscum contagious an uncommon disease? Do you think that I need to do more tests to be sure of my HIV status or other kind of tests? The other symptoms, like white tongue, can be a consequence of my high anxiety? The doctors here didn´t tell me too much about molluscum and even the name looks scary.
Sorry so many questions but in my country we don´t have so many sites like this one and I really want to finish this horrible chapter of my life.
