Chances of getting hiv using condom

Hi,

I had a protected oral and virgina sex with a prostitute a week ago, the condom did not fail (break) and it was use properly. What would be the chances of me getting infected with hiv if the prostittute was hiv+? If i were to have a hiv test 6 weeks after the exposure, how accurate will it be?

Thank you

hey,

Thanks for your comment really appreciate it. I guess I better have a hiv test 6 weeks after jus to be sure if im hiv free 100percent. Btw, if there was an encounter with a hiv positive female unprotected without using condom, what do you think of the chances of getting infected by hiv..as in the number of percentage? Thanks

Hey Teak,

Thanks for ur comment..it really helps a lot but currently im jus worried about the possibilities of getting infected by hiv if she is hiv positive even though i had use a condom. I know its really stupid going to a prostitute and i reckon is not worth going at all. Even though im 100percent sure that the condom didnt break or fail, but i heard from information circulating on the internet that condoms are only 85% to 95% safe..that worries me alot. It also says that, rarely people use condom 100% properly. Jus 1 more quick question, even if i had a 1 time encounter virgina intercourse with a hiv+ female unprotected, wat are my chances of getting infected with hiv? Thanks again teak...really appreciate it!

You never had a risk and do not need testing.

im in the same situation had protected sex with prostitue also worried and anxieous about everything. I have thought off every possible way i could have got something from her even though she told me she had nothing and on top off that i used protection. I guess the problem is i really dont care and im very paranoid about the whole situation. More off im more disappointed in myself that i put myself in a stupid situation "again" because if the condom would have broke i would really be scared right now. But this site has helped me a lot reasuring me i will be ok but still worried :(
