Need a Viral Load test?

I had unprotected sex three months ago got an HIV test at 11 weeks and the result was negative. Tested again for HIV Antibodies H1&H2 EIA, with reflexes  at 15 weeks, result negative. An Infectious disease doctor ordered a viral load test and another antibodies test at the 6th month mark. Any chances my negative result would turn positive?

Yea I should stop because this is making my life miserable, sometimes I feel like I have to get punished for what I have done by having sex with multiple partners with or without protection. :-( Would you recommend to actually do the Viral Load and a third HIV antibodi at 6 months??

If u will be in an advance stage ur antibody and reflex should have been positive, I think u truly negative. Stop reading online crap ur test have proven u r negative.

I have no idea what he is thinking, I showed him all the test results where it said non-reactive both tests I got them done at a docotors office. The first one with a gynecologist and the second one at my general medicine doctor. Now I have been doing research about why someone who might have the virus test negative for antibodies and it says that if you are in an advanced stage you stop making those antibodies and I have been irresponsible when it comes to sex and I have had multiple partners without protection. For the most part I knew they were clean and over all healthy. So a lot of things are in my mind, I have a sore throat and trouble swalling but I have never experienced fevers. I am over all a healthy person I got my physical exam about a week ago a lipid panel and a CBC and everthing came on normal ranges. So if I had an advanced HIV or aids my blood work would be abnormal right?

He asked for a viral load now I am at almost 4 moths from my las unprotected intercourse. Also he wants another antibodies test on june my 6 moths mark is on may so he wants me to test passed the 6 months. I showed him all my test results a negative at 11 weeks and a second negative at 15 weeks.  Yes I do live in the US I went to see him thinking he would tell me everything was conclusive and tell me more about HIV but he made me get scared once again.

Seriously go see another doctor. Do u live in the state? If yes I cannot believe someone will order a PCR at 6 month mark with negative result at 15 weeks. He should just order an antibody test if he has a doubt. From an ID md I cannot believe it. May be it is because u r a new patient?

Yea I tought the same thing, he scared me because I asked him what would be the chances I would have the virus and not having antibodies at 15 weeks and he said it could be possible. Then I asked him if he knew someone or has seen someone turning positive after the 3 month mark He refused to answer my question and just said it was the "protocol" that they have to follow because there has been those cases.

Yes HPV can be in your body for a long time without showing up. Sometimes you can develop dysplasia due to HPV and you just have to watch it getting pap smears every 3 or 6 months depending on your gynecologist. Depending on your age and the grade of the dysplasia the doctor will recommend further testing. They will do a colposcopy and a biopsy to see if maybe those cells are cancerous, in that case they will remove part of your cervix wich is called a cone biopsy or do a leep. Talk with your doctor and ask what is your case. Yes HIV and HPV are two different things. Your immune system can get rid of HPV but will not get rid of HIV since HIV if not detected on time can turn to AIDS and will start destroying your immune system. The only way to know if you have HIV is by testing.

Your antibody test is definitive; it proves you didn't catch HIV. Your ID doc is being exceedingly cautious and conservative and I see no need for a viral load test.

kitkats09 is mistaken. There is no such thing as HIV taking "10 years to show up". HPV is a different issue and irrelevant to your concerns about HIV.

And of course here I am freaking out that I could have hiv as well. I had unprotected sex when I was younger.  Not with a lot of guys but just those few could've been deadly.  So far one of them was for me.

From what I know it can take 10 years to show up.  I tested negative for hpv not hiv for 10 years and it just now showed up 2 months ago.
