condom broke

I had a sexual experience where my an on-line hook-up (topped) who pulled out to switch positions and I noticed the condom broke.  He put a second condom on immediately which stayed in tact.   The paranoia is in full throttle.  He too said that he was negative... he swore on it (even to God), but I'm still taking a strangers word.  He's bi-sexual and said the last time he hooked up with a guy was with me and it was about a year ago.  He does not have un-protected sex with other females, but he does with his girlfriend.  I know...I know... the morality of it.  But I need your help.

I'm worried about pre-cum, and I'm  taking his word on it.

I feel like my chances are low, but should I take PEP since I was the bottom and he was inside me for maybe 30 seconds with a broken condom even though he did not ejaculate without a condom?

Pep is given for people who are known to have unprotected sex with people who are confirmed hiv positive.

For a condom break pep is not recommended.

Anyways pep should be initaited within 72 hours after the exposure.

It should be continued for 28 days and you should take a test at 12 weeks after the completion of pep for a conclusive result.

The drugs have side effect!

I would not reccomend pep for you, anyways its your choice.

USE CONDOMS for penetrative sex and you will remain hiv negative!!!!

GOOD LUCK!!!!

Thank you Raj, but he was inside me for maybe 30 seconds to a minute and  somewhere in that time it broke before he bulled out.  It was a complete break.  he was not close to ejaculating.  The fact that he did not ejaculate and claims he is negative and mainly has sexual encounters with females except for me (again, going by his word) should suggest its a risk, but not a high rise and I should not be seeking PEP?

A broken condom is a risk for hiv

You should get a test at 6weeks and following it at 12 weeks using the simple
Antibody test.

Pep is usually recommended for high risk activities and i dont think you need a pep for an condom broke.

USE CONDOMS for penetrative sex and you will remain hiv negative!!!!
