P24 Accuracy- Hard Numbers

Does anyone have the % of accuracy that p24 test work. I have heard so many different numbers.

From my understanding it is

75% accurate before 21 days.

I also know that these test HAVE to be followed up by a Normal HIV test.

I just want to get tested as early as possible because I am having depression issues that are effecting my life and school. Some peace of mind would help me a lot. Also I live in Canada so it will be covered!

What is your obsession with taking a P24 test? You should have a problem getting the test. It's your dollar and they aren't cheap.

I understand that. So are you saying that I will unable to find a doctor that will just give p24 test. I am not looking for a conclusive result, just something to ease my mind, even if it may not a false sense of hope until I can take antibody test. I do realize there is high chance test may not be accurate.

You asked the same question Feb 28. As you've been told a P24 test is not a stand alone test.

also can someone give me info on NAT test. I am trying to learn about these test in a way to help me get through my dad until I am able to take a normal HIV antibody test at 6-8 weeks.
