PCR DNA antigen HIV TEST after 18 days but HIV Fear

Dear Doctor,

I had exposure on Feb 10th 2011 and after a week consulted a doctor he prescribed ceftum 500mg along with other tablets too for urinary track infection. Later i went much anxiety and depression etc.. then i got skin rash, fever, cold, white patches on tongue, sore throat, swollen lump node etc. Later decided to take PCR DNA antigen HIV TEST after 18 days and the result was Negative. I have also done all the STD test which are Non-reactive/negative.  In between, i consulted psychiatric doctor for anxiety and depression and he prescribed tablets to reduce my anxiety and to sleep well. But still i feel much fear on HIV. I have completed over 50 days/ 7 weeks. Pl advice me what to do.

hi,

PCR DNA antigen HIV TEST is not diagnostic but it can pick up HIV virus before antibody develops. Most of the Doctors saying it's 99.99 percentage secure within the window period.

Your antibody test at 3 months post exposure will be conclusive.

Ceftum is NOT known to be marketed in the USA.

PCR DNA isn't approved for diagnostic use and the period is too short for a conclusive result even as it were the right one.

What was your exposure though?
