Paranoia I hope

I recently was in someones home who  i was told was in and out of the hospital. They had a large scab on their forehead which did seem a bit bloody. I also noticed bruise near the underside of the elbow where i presume you could have an iv inserted and also normal dark bruising under the arms.  I was wondering if this could be HIV? The person was kind of overweight so that may be think probably not as i heard they had been sick for over 10 years.

The reason i am concerned is i am Diabetic and often puncture my skin for blood tests etc. I washed my hands of course but the day after i started to have a relapse of a cold i had a few weeks ago and mostly but not completely started to recover from and also had a mark on my lip which i am hoping is just a pimple. relapse being a cough that has come back a little bit. I had broncitis.

any thoughts?

HIV is passed from unprotected vaginal and anal sex, and from IV drug users and mother to unborn/nursing child. Not from enviromental contact.
