Please Advice

Hi,

I am a frequent drug user and might have had possible HIV exposure. I was placed on PEP 5 days later. My question is, if i were on PEP would i feel the symptomps of HIV?

Could be yes, could be no. Symptoms are no reliable indicators of HIV.

Well if that's the case and you use drugs on a frequent basis, then you need to take a test 6 months after your last intake of PEP for a conclusive result on your HIV status because your immune system may have been compromised by the drugs. Normally it's 3 months post-exposure.

Yes there was that one occasion when i did exactly why there is possible HIV exposure. I had a mild fever 3 days after that. I was put on PEP on the 5th day after the possible exposure. If i were infected with HIV, will there be symptoms even though i am on PEP?
