Hello,
2 years ago I had an HIV scare in the Far East. I got tested at 4 weeks, 12 weeks and 16 weeks and everything came back negative. At the time I got in the classic worried well state and it took me a long time to trust in the result and believe it.
Flash forward to now and I have a girlfriend who I had unprotected sex with for the first time 2 weeks ago. Yesterday she came down with a sore throat, sweating through the night, aching muscles, cough et. Since then I cannot shake the thought again that the test I had may have been wrong and I have put her at risk.
I know to try and stay off the internet but I found a report from 2014 that states that during Acute infection tests are not highly accurate. http://www.aidsmap.com/Large-US-study-shows-which-HIV-tests-are-most-accurate/page/2812847/
I am struggling to understand now what this means please can someone offer some advice
