Rapid test is considered as watt test?
Thats the only test which is affordable in my country. A lot here mentioned about HIV 1&2 antibodies and p24 antigen.
So Oraquick is categorized under which test?
Your symptoms have nothing to do with HIV. Any test at 3 months will be conclusive.
Its almost going 3 months now. To be exact, coming 10 November. Kinda anxious to go for the test really. In my country, HIV testing is really expensive, except for the rapid test. What test is it call to be exact? Cause many of you mentioned a lot about HIV 1&2 antibodies and p24 antigen. So rapid test is considered as?
Another question, is having slight pain (on & off) on the heel, as well as slight stinging pain just below the right chest sign of HIV?
Besides that, I am perfectly alright. Feel tired easily though. Cause I think I've been eating, sleeping (without exercising) a lot.
The UK guidelines are just the same as the US. 3 months post exposure will give you a conclusive test resultl.
If you read what the Dr's on this site say, they agree that 6 weeks to test an antibody will give you around a 90% accurate result, 8 weeks 99% accurate result, and waiting the full 12 weeks, will give 99.999999999999999% accurate result. If you can't stand there being that 10% chance you've missed a positive result, then wait a bit longer. In the UK a DUO test of HIV 1&2 antibodies and p24 antigen together will give a 99.9999999999% accurate result at 28 days- that's what our UK guidelines are. Personally I think they are OK, but I know others here from the US and other places around the world will totally disagree.
A conclusive test is 3 months post exposue.
Hi To One & All.
To recap, last exposure was 10th August. 1st testing was done on 2 weeks after. 2nd testing was done on the 1 month mark, 10th September. 3rd testing was done recently, on the 27th September, which is almost 2 month.
The doctor as usual advise me on safe sex, etc. He then mentioned that its almost 2 months since my last exposure. He said base on his experience, testing HIV patients,he said most, will show up, as early as before 2 months! He said that am 90% certain to be negative of HIV. In addition to that, he also mentioned seldom he came across people after 3 months tested positive. He also mentioned that, 3 month is like a guided timeline to refer. Some how like that.
So my question is:
1) Can I conclude myself negative, since the nurse said that he's 90% sure (2 months)
2) Is it reliable, what he said that 3 months is like some how a timeline to refer to?
3) People can be tested positive after 1-2 months?
Please answer my 4 questions. May God bless you all. Have a good time. :D
Hi..
Thanks for the greeat assurance dude. Really appreciate it. Yeah.. Basically, the 3 month spot seems like forever... I just cant wait for it to actually come. Quite ironic. Thanks one and all. Wish u all the pinkest of health, and stay healthy and safe. I love u all. Thanks a zillion.
Justan and all the others are right when they tell you you HAVE to relax!!
I am going through the same thing and after I got the correct information from certain people on this forum I calmed down and ALL the symptoms I was having went away.
What started my worries; happened to be a skin problem not a rash but tiny sweat bumps and I thought I got HIV I am still waiting for my 3 month mark but I don't think I have HIV I just want to make sure...
My bumps ended up being a bacterial infection of the skin, You need some one to look at the rash, it could also be caused by your anxiety. If you still have to wait for your 3 month mark you will never make by acting this way. I waisted 2 months of my life because I was sooooooooo stressed thinking I may have contracted HIV.
I still think about it which is why I went and got tested at the ten month mark two days ago but I am not stressing my self any more and I feel SO MUCH BETTER,
YOU HAVE TO CHILL!!! We all know what you are going through thats why we are all on this forum, three months seems to take FOREVER but hang in there and chill out
See a Dermitologist There are HUNDREDS of reasons that could cause that rash!!! I myself went through the same thing, i had unproted anal sex with an asian hooker, 3 weeks later i got thest itchy bumps and it turns out that it has nothing to do with HIV
Hi Justan.
Good day. I know I made a grave mistake. I had an exposure, which I swear that I won't do it again. All the anxiety, the nearing 1 month of cough and such.
It's frustating. I know I can be quite irritating, but am here to actually coax myself, and keep myself relaxed. Yes Sir, I was a bit relaxed. Until I had this rash. Because rashes is like the most likely symptom. Its not that itchy now, only at certain parts.
How it start was, firstly that spot itch. So I actually scratch and scratch. Now there's rash, and its beneath the skin. Slight itch. Now my anxiety increased. I know. But am worried sick. Looking forward till November to get a test. Exposure was August, so November should be ok right?
OH, i just want to say that stressing out about it is pointless, IF you are positive, what can you do about it? and IF you are negative witch is LIKELY, then all the stressing is causing you an unreasonalbe amount of GREIF!! STRESS AND ANXIETY can MAKE YOU SICK TOO!!!
NO MATTER WHAT anyone says to you on this web site, the only way to know if your symptoms are HIV related is to get a test at 3 MONTHS for a CONCLUSIVE result! AND just want to tell you that if you had an ANTIBODY test NOT a p24 test!! IN this case you have tested to EARLY! WAIT UNTIL DECEMBER 10th to test!
So can I say that am still at risk now? Doctor, sorry to bother you again. May I ask, how severe the symptoms can be?
How is diarrhoea like? How bad?
How is dry cough like? How bad?
I don't have fever. I checked my reading consistently, Am now at 36.1 degree celsius.
Got a small ulcer on my tongue. Applied bonjela, not much effect though.
For my cough, been quite sometimes. Took Strepsils still cough. Went to the doctor, gave me anti biotics, still no cure. Even took cough syrups. I totally stopped drinking cold water and such, only drink warm water. Still no cure. Can enlighten?
In summary : How severe diarrhoea, cough and ulcer? On which week usually it occurs?
And now, I got a small patch of red rash (circle with diameter around 3cm) on my right leg, on the shin. It was quite itchy. How does the rash start? Is it small, den become big? What are the characteristics? Some how its red, but its not raised.
So how is the rash? Is my rash one of the possible symptoms?
I really salute your kind attention..

HI,
Is it too much if someone can answer my post above please?
Sorry if this bug u.
Oh yeah. Got it. Ok.. Got another source, stating that ARS rash, will take place almost all HIV people. Like 80% of them. And it will occur during 2-4 weeks, with high fever and swollen lymph nodes. And the rash is small, but widespread across , arm, neck & face. Can it be at other places, like groin or something?
In addition to that, I contacted the girl, she's complaining she got rash at her vagina area. Quite painful, and there's whitish discharge during urinating, as well as being painful. Is it STD or HIV?
I had been having lymph nodes under my neck ( left & right) since years ago. It used to be bigger, but recent month, it shrink smaller. Texture and shape is the same.
How can it be smaller?

P24 is an antigen test is only good from after week one to the 3-4 week. It's not a stand alone test and has to be followed up with an antibody test and you know that an antibody test is conclusive for a negative result at 3 months post exposure.
To be exact, I had sex on 10 August. Get tested 1 month after, 10 September. I read few questions here. There's a thread whereby it stated that using p24 test, it takes around a month to conclude.
But am not really sure what test I took, as I went for an anonymous testing, in my country. All I know it is a rapid test, whereby the doctor, ***** my finger, drop a little on a paper strip.
He den explained to me that, am negative, since it indicate that its within a certain line.
So, what test is that? sorry if its too much. But den am really concern. So, is that p24 or something? I waited so anxiously for a month. Whats the probability?
First off you took the test to early for a recent exposure. Test at 3 months and collect your conclusive test result. Forget about symptoms, they can't tell you if you were infected or not. HIV has NO specific symptoms.
