Some concerns

Hi I'm male and heterosexual, I know from  other posts that oral sex is always no hiv risk(hiv). My problem is what are the risks (hiv) with an unprotected vaginal intercourse for both the man and the woman involved? What instead are the risks(hiv) if the condom would break? Sorry for my english I'm italian :)

Hi There.

I don't have a chart to share buddy and it may just cause you anxiety.

Just remember, Symptoms do not diagnose & tests do not lie.

Best Wishes.

Thank u very much :)

I know, I know you are right one should get tested if has had any unprotected sex but just out of personal knowledge I would like to have more informations, let's call it curiosity, knowledge or whatever :). Can u help me with that?

However it's really 1 in 1000 the chances of getting hiv from vaginal sex? It's too low for me :)

Still appreaciate your answer and I still thank u for your help

What difference would a chart make though buddy?

Symptoms do not diagnose HIV, if you have had unprotected sex it is great practice to get tested.

To put in in perspective, of a man slept with a HIV Pos lady, the risk is 1 in 1000 for one session of sex.

If you are worried please do get tested, charts will not do this for you and the likely hood is that you do not have it.

Best wishes

Hi There,

Good call to look at these things buddy!

Regardless of her (or your) history, always get fully tested before having unprotected sex, - HIV, like many viruses, does not care if you have only had sex once, with a man or a woman, it is all about chance and luck.

Until you are both tested, always use Condoms for sex.

Hope that helps :)

No no not a specific  instance it was just to be prepared if something like that would happen. I know that oral sex is no risk and the riskiest activity is anal sex as well as drug injection so I was asking just to make myself a more accurate idea of the various risks of getting hiv.
My first concern is that when I start a relationship with a woman I would like to know as much as I can about her previous experience so to realize if it's worth to have her tested or not, and obiously for my self too how much risk there is in such activities.

Hi there,

Any unprotected sex is a risk but you can only catch something if the other person has it in the first place.

HIV is harder for a Man to catch off a woman than the other way round, also, it is a hard virus to transmit.

Are you worried about a particular instance?
