Strange symptoms

Hi group,

I had protected sex with a sex worker around 4 months back. After around 3-4 weeks, someone told me that I could have contracted  HIV as its possible to get it even after using a condom. Soon after that I started developing some starange symptoms, like body  ache, muscle twitching and sore throat. I went to a doctor who said it's stress and anxiety, not to mention that I had high blood pressure as well (140/100).

15 weeks after this happened, I went in for a HIV test twice at 2 different places, both of them came out negative.
I'm still concerned (now its more than 4 months )as I still have a lot of muscle twitching, something that I
have observed for the first time in my life. Right now, its just the muscle pain and twitching thats bothering me.

Can anyone comment on this please?

Thanks a lot.

Jordan

You didn't have a risk of contracting HIV. YOU DON'T NEED TESTING...

your tests were conclusive, proving you do not have hiv.

if you have medical concerns...see your doctor about it.  you do not have a hiv concern.  (stop reading the internet about hiv)

Hi Lizzie,

Thanks a lot for your reply.

The symptoms are freaking me out.

I mean I still have this strange muscle twitching and weakness, which I never had before. Can you please answer my following queries:-

1. Is a test after 15 weeks conclusive? I mean i did 2 tests, an antibody test and a p24 antigen test.

2. Is muscle twitching or weakness a symptom of hiv infection? If yes, then does it occur so soon after the infection or in later stages.

Thanks a lot.

Jordan.

i'm sure you have figured out by now that your "symptoms" started as soon as someone told you that you could still get hiv.

you were PROTECTED...and PROTECTED intercourse = NO RISK ! ! !

as soon as you accept your negative status, as proven by your tests...your symptoms will start to fade away.
