Symptoms of HIV

Hi,
My nerves have been recently rattled by a few symptoms.

First, I am a male, I was on the giving end of oral sex with a male that claimed negative for HIV, so good news there.  He was quite a leaker though.

However, a week later, I get sick with what might appear to be strep throat, tonsillitis, or perhaps a tough cold, who knows.  It lasted about a week and a half with a dry cough following for some time. I had nasal congestion, sore throat and swollen lymph nodes.  Keep in mind that I had been sharing drinks with someone 24 hours earlier before the symptoms showed up, so I don't know if it was just a bug or something serious.

This week, I have come down with what appears to be the whooping cough.  I rarely get sick because I'm such a germophobe.

Anyway, I'm scared that I have gotten HIV at the worst, but am I overreacting?  HIV symptoms seem so similar to all of these bugs that I don't know what to think.  I am within the six week window, so I intend to get checked soon.

Thank you for your response, was checked out twice since then and came up negative. File this under "paranoia".
