Testing Accuracy

Hi all, just had a question of testing accuracy, im planning on taking a HIV-1 DNA PCR and includes a HIV-1 antibody with reflex to Western Blot Confirmation test along with hep c and b test 2 weeks after exposure, provided by TSTD.org.  They assured me that it would be the most accurate and told me to take it at 2 weeks  and that i wouldn't need any further testing, but i just wanted to make sure.  My exposure is similar to my previous posts (well its acutally the same) and i know that i am at little risk but i guess i would like some piece of mind.  Also what type of doctor would i see, because this seem to be a re-occurring pattern for me and i want to correct it before i put myself in a risky situation.  Thank You for you time

What ever test you have at 2 weeks will not be conclusive. If they don,t offer the p24 combo test then have an antidody test at 6 to 8 weeks.

so its not the same as the test given by tstd? so i should nt take the test? My question is not on p24 but the test given by tstd, and they dont offer a p 24 test.

A p24 combo test looks for both p24 antigen and antibodies and is very reliable at 4 weeks,it has nothing to do with a PCR.

could you please elaborate on a p 24 test is that the same as what i posted a HIV-1 DNA PCR and includes a HIV-1 antibody with reflex to Western Blot Confirmation.  And the pcr comment was posted by teak

When did i say that? I said a p24 combo test not a PCR,re-read what i said and how can an Hiv test be conclusive at 14 days, that,s just not true.12 weeks is conclusive and that,s it.You have been a member here since 2009,you should already know all the facts by now.

oh sorry, but teak said PCR was not approved for hiv diagnostic test, and you say yes but that i would have to take another test 12 weeks later which would make the pcr test pointless if i have to take it again later.  And TSTD told me that i would not require any other test that the test at 14 days was conclusive.  Sorry i dont mean to question your responses but its just confusing

Mixed Answers? THE OFFICIAL AND CONCLUSIVE HIV WINDOW PERIOD IS 12 WEEKS OR 3 MONTHS POST-EXPOSURE AND HAS BEEN SINCE 2004 AND ANYONE THAT TELLS YOU OTHERWISE IS NOT FOLLOWING THE CDC,FDA OR THE MANUFACTURES GUIDELINES!!!!!!! NO HIV TEST IS 100% CONCLUSIVE BEFORE THIS TIME FRAME.

PCR-DNA tests are not HIV diagnostic tests and not approved to be used as such.
