Testing question

Could anyone explain if a pcr dna test or a pcr rna test is better at 20 plus weeks and also do these detect hiv2?

Big far waste of money because they're expensive. You do you.

You'd have to ask the person giving you the test.

Sorry I thought mouth and gum issues are 1 of the signs of hiv? No I am at 20 weeks post exposure and have been ill since 2 week's post exposure..I haven't had 1 day of feeling well and it stems from that incident of unprotected sex. I feel my case is unusual and hasn't followed the usual stage that most people experience

Gum issues have nothing to do with HIV

HIV symptoms come from the development of antibodies. So if they were related, you would've tested positive. You are not in the seroconversion stage.

I feel I may be seronegative case, the symptoms I am experiencing I feel can only point to hiv.. Swollen lymph nodes in the back of my head behind my knees and in each side of abdomen, plus extreme fatigue headaches and muscle aches as well as gum problems.
if I am seronegative the 4th generation test p24 would not have detected hiv2 which is my concern

You do not need to test any further. Antibodies and more likely to be detected at this point than RNA. You have reliably tested negative and do not have HIV

Yes I have had 8 tests all negative but because of ongoing symptoms at 20 weeks I am going to get 1 of the above to tests to hhopefully rule hiv out completely or else be diagnosed with it. So I would appreciate some advise on which 1 would be better at this stage and if they detect hiv2 which I may have been exposed to
