so is this test carried out 3months post exposure for obtaining a conclusive test result.
I should have said, "Standard ELISA" test. Rapid tests are also ELISA tests without the use of added equipment.
Rapid test are done in a matter of minutes while you wait. So I would say you had an ELISA test.
my above question was little different.
You can use the 4th Gen test earlier than the 3rd Gen test and, assuming one is infected, it will yield a positive result sooner if detected via P24. Once the P24 is gone from the body (21 days average), both 3rd and 4th Gen tests are essentially the same as they are only reading for the Ab at that point.
and here the blood was drawn from the hand(nerve).
thanks.one last concern, i got my hiv(hiv1 and hiv2)test report and the entire testing process took 4hrs. So do u think its 3rd gen rapid test or elisa test?
4th generation is the only test with a combo Ag and Ab combines
3rd generation tests do not have the Ag combo.
3 months for a conclusive test. Depending on the lab it takes from hours to a couple of weeks to process depending on the labs work load.
is it same as the 4th gen antibody test except 4th gen has one p24 test extra?
How much avg time does an elisa test take to give a test report?
is it a 4th generation or 3rd generation test.
