Tongue Dorsal Is White and Won't Wipe Off

For the past six weeks the whole top portion (dorsal) of my tongue is evenly white and can not be wiped off. Weird taste in mouth, but I don't believe it is accompanied with bad breath. The only unprotected sex I have is oral. All other sites indicate HIV. I've been brushing my tongue, but that doesn't work. I am very fit and no other symptoms at all, except maybe mild toenail fungus that I have had for years. realizing you can not diagnose, is this an onset to HIV?

Thanks. To clarify: one morning I woke up with a strong metal taste in my mouth and was shocked to see my healthy pink tongue very white. Again, it would NOT wipe off. I am coming to read that this happens to a lot of people. However, will it ever go away? At times, it even affects my taste. Of course, now I am super sensitive to every little ache and pain I get--disregarding the fact that these may be due to working out twice a day and wreaking havoc on my 48-year-old body. LOL! Anyway, much of the info on the Web is enough to make you want to crawl up into a fetal position and put your thumb in your mouth--not without a condom of course. :-D

if you had thrush it would be able to wipe off and underneath is usually red, sometimes really raw, white tongue is just a sign of normal bacteria getting trapped between the pappillar on the tongue, mouth breathers are famous for white tongue as are people who stress out alot. no this isnt hiv,
