When do symptoms typically appear?

Last exposure July 15
Negative 2 and 5 week

Symptoms lingering for a month:
-Sore throat
-glymph nodes in groin, armpit and under chin either raised or shooting pain
-fatigue
-Hot flashes

My question is when a person is not asymtomatic, when do symptoms typically appear?

I know that the HIV test is not conclusive until 12 weeks, so I will be sweating it out hoping for a good result.

Any insight would be helpfull...

The only risk that you may have had was the unprotected vaginal sex. The broken condom, is lower than not having any protection at all, because you were protected until the condom failed.  It is harder to transmit HIV from female to male but it does happen. You still need to test at 12 weeks as you have planned.

Good luck to you. I have similar symptoms too, especially swollen lymph nodes and hot flashes. Please keep us post with your test results.

dont want to steal any attetion from your thread and i know you might be very concerned. And i pray for you and for every other individual who is going through this phase.

Similarly I am very very concerned But I wanted to talk to 'Teak' about my questions. Could you please look at 'Massage Gone Bad'. I beg you as you are very learned and teach in schools/colleges about this.

well if all these symptoms started several weeks before you had the negative test it probably means that they are unrelated.

Why are you scared of HIV anyways? What did you do?

1)I had unprotected sex with an older women who was quite promiscuous on three different occaisons;June 3, 13, and July 15th
2)Slepted with a prostitute on May 27; had unprotected oral performed on me and protected intercourse.
3)Slepted with a women on June 7th I met on Adult Friend Finder; had unprotected oral performed on me and protected intercourse.
4)Slepted with a girl met at a bar in mid June;  had unprotected oral performed on me and protected intercourse, and the condom broke.

Four good reasons and I saw what I thought was herpes, but was negative from a swob and curenty awaiting blood test to confirm either HSV-1 or HSV-2.

The doc on here said that there is a greater chance to contract HIV if that same person gave me herpes...

I am scared from all that and my current symptoms.

I just a negative today after 11.5 weeks.

I had sore throat and still do, been over 2.5 weeks now
I also have swollen lymph nodes in groin, armpit and throat and under my ear/ jaw (confirmed by doctor today).
Had fatigue as well. Could be from illness (virus) or just anxiety and stress.
I also have joint pains, specially my knee. Not as sore as it usually is when you have the flu, but still bothering.

I guess I am a perfect example of how you can have a whole bunch of symptoms and still be negative.

Why are you scared of HIV anyways? What did you do?
