the CURRENT guideline, set by the fda, cdc, and the manufacturers of the test, is 3 months post exposure for a conclusive result. this guideline has been in place since 2004.
the only ppl who might need to test longer are those with a SEVERELY COMPROMISED immune system. this would include ppl on chemotherapy, taking anti-rejection drugs, and CHRONIC, LONG TERM iv drug users.

Lizzie, what qualifies as a severe compromissed inmune system? Can staphylococcus aureus have this effect? And what aré iv drugs? About the window pwriod what Bout 10 weeks, is that a golf messure? A lot of placea say most ppll will test + after 6 weeks
