Worried about joints...

Dr.
I would like to say how happy i am to have found this site. How truly great it is that you doctors do this and help out as much as you do. i truly do appreciate it.

I went out of my relationship and participated in a gang bang. I had protected vaginal sex and unprotected oral sex (received) with a Caucasian 40 year old Lady. There were 5 other men participating. No holes, rips or breaks in the condom. I do have HSV2 but was not having any break outs and have been break out free for months. I was tested 10 days later for chlamydia and gonorrhea and they both came back negative. Since then i have had some symptoms of HIV.

I have had post nasal drip for a week plus. I have had a headache for some time now (two weeks) but it is mild and is more of a frontal pressure ache. My throat has not been sore. My stool has been soft but not diarrhea since week 4. I also have from what i can tell indigestion (also around week 4). I feel full most of the time after i eat and i constantly have gas that comes in the form of burping.  No vomiting . No fever. No rash. And i believe my lymph nodes are not swollen.  I have taken the OraQuick Rapid test at 37 days (5 weeks 2 days) and it came back negative. The major problem i am having is joint pain. I feel it in my ankles (mostly my right), Toes and heels (mostly my left), right knee, left elbow and both wrist. and my right side of my jaw. its a mild pain that is through out the day. No matter if i work out or relax. Its not sore or hot to the touch. And i dont notice any swelling. This is the main concern of mine.

I have been worried the whole time. Looking at my symptoms and obsessing about them. Every time i feel a pain i think i am infected. My questions are... 1) If you are a big guy (i am 6 foot 11) will it take more time for my test to show i am HIV positive. 2) is joint pain (my joint pain) a major symptom of HIV and if so how soon does it show. 3) is my 5 week test something that should be valid (im taking a test again at 7.2 weeks). 4)How long from infection does it take for you to pass it on. 5) if i take the test at 7-8 weeks how concrete is the results (same test as mentioned above).

Thank you for listening and responding. I appreciate the info and feed back.

NO risk. Intact condoms protect you 100% and oral sex is no risk.

You do not have any HIV concerns.

you NEVER had a risk for contracting hiv

any "symptoms" you are experiencing, have NOTHING to do with hiv

Wrong. A condom that is used correctly and consistently is 100% effective and is not a risk. Oral sex is not a risk of HIV transmission.

I understand that with a condom that the risk is low. i also know that oral sex is a low risk as well. But if some one could answer my questions... That would help me out again. Thanks
