@aldog
Transmission of HIV occurs during penetration.
Several studies have been conducted to prove effectiveness of condoms among semi-discordant couples, one of whom is diagnosed with HIV. None of those who reported correct and consistent use of condoms became infected with HIV.
After someone is diagnosed with HIV, counselors and specialists don't tell them to stop having sex. Instead they are advised to use condoms correctly and consistently to protect their partners from becoming infected.
As long as you use condoms and never experience condom breakage, you're on the SAFE SIDE.
I know I need professional help. But this has sent me over the edge. Was the study done with individuals who used protection? I assume not? It doesn't change the fact that I am no risk?
You need to see a therapist because you had perotected sex...simple as that.
A study asking men if they was there penis after sex with someone HIV infected. And they are cocluding that washing after sex leads to a higher risk...maybe just having unprotected sex with someone who is HIV+ runs the risk.
I can do a study that finds more people like Hitler then Bin Laden. What would my headline read... "People like Hitler". When reading things you need to apply common sense.
Ok, so while I know I have no risk for HIV because I had protected sex, but that study is scaring me! Ok, so Vance says holds no weight, but did the study involve protected couples??? Or not protected? I'm scared now. PLEASE HELP. VANCE, you're sure it holds no weight????
That was a non-scientific study and holds no weight. It can be called a study because a paper was published on it.
Apparently if you look it up, there was a study in 2007 in Africa that took men in relationships withHIV infected women, and asked whether or not they washed their penis immediately after vaginal sex or after 10 minutes or so, the men whom washed immediately had a 100x higher rate of transmission!! Mind you this is one study, but it was suggested that water enabled the virus to swim into your skin easier.. TotALLY Counter Intuitive and it seems like a sick joke, but unfortunately it is not. They said when the vaginal fluid dries on the skin the virus dies, so wait 10 min's before washing!
What washing a penis has to do with HIV prevention/transmission?
How about verifying your information before giving advice to people?
this is not the "ask a doctor" forum. you need to go to the expert forum...pay your money...and then post a question there.
thx for th ans guys am still w8ing 2 hav final ans from the doc : (
"Plz suggest a test at present as my window period is of 63 days" - 3 months is when you can obtain a conclusive negative test result. There are NO TESTS manufactured, marketed or sold that will give you a conclusive negative test earlier than 3 months.
Testing 6 - 8 weeks post exposure is a good indicator of a persons status however.
"Plz tell me what are my chances am i infected??" - HIV can sometimes be transmitted through a single exposure of UNPROTECTED vaginal/anal intercourse and can sometimes take multiple exposures for transmission to occur.
Dude, forget about it. You didnt catch HIV. If you said you know She has it, and she just got it recently as to be going through seroconversion, and you were uncircumcised, and you have dormant herpes, and you washed your penis immediately after sex, then I'd say you got about a 25 percent chance. Now if these are your conditions, I'd be a bit concerned, if not. Relax, ride your bike and get an ice cream cone.
"Chances she has HIV 1 in 1,000."
Where did you get those numbers from?
Hey relax.
Chances she has HIV 1 in 1,000.
Chance for a female to infect a male ( IF she is HIV positive) 1 in 2000
I think you have just answered your own question in regards to your symptoms.
"plz help me doc reply asap am not able to eat or sleep "
Stress can cause alot of of what you are describing.
